Fusion Teas

As the name suggest, fusion teas for sore throat is probably a good idea as it combines the health properties of many elements into a fine brew that tastes just as good. A good example would be a honey and lemon tea that has the citrus benefits of lemon plus the antioxidants of honey, both of which will also reduce inflammation and provide a great, lasting taste.

Herbal Tea

Albeit a bit bland, herbal teas such as green tea offer tons of benefits to your body ranging from antioxidants to better sleep and, of course, taking care of that nasty sore throat. The herbs in the herbal tea coat the mucous membrane and starts the healing process in combination with it’s anti-inflammatory properties to alleviate pain.

Spiced Teas

If you want a different taste than the fusion teas or the bland herbal teas, then having spiced tea will provide that spicy but rich taste and get rid of that sore throat at the same time. Though many people do not consider it as a tea for sore throat, the fact that it has antibacterial, antifungal and mucus loosening elements speaks for itself.

Traditional Tea

If you just want to get rid of a sore throat without having to buy anything from the store, then that traditional black or green tea you have on your kitchen shelf will suffice as well. Though it goes without saying it won’t provide the additional health benefits especially in the case of black tea, which is something to keep in mind if you aim on having a healthier body.

A word of caution

Though all of these teas will definitely get rid of that sore throat in no time, it’s important to make sure that you don’t have these if you are already on a medication as the tea could interfere with it’s effectiveness. The best course of action would be to consult your doctor without trying anything.
