How it Works
Sunscreens are all about SPFs and you may be wondering how coconut oil fits in it all. Well truth is, this oil has been found to contain natural SPF 4-5 as well as powerful antioxidants that help protect the skin from exposure to harmful radiations of the sun, which makes it the best natural sunscreen ever! Infact, a recent study conducted on several different types of oils being used as sunscreens revealed that coconut oil and olive oil turned out to be the best candidates to be used as a natural sunscreen option.
In addition, it also acts as a gentle moisturizer for the skin. If you’re looking for a more powerful sun protection, adding a couple of drops of raspberry seed oil to the above recipe can help! It’ll boost the SPF and help you spend the day in the sun without any worries. Plus, it is also one of the most environment friendly sunscreens out there- perfect if you’re practising green living!
And if that’s not enough, coconut oil does not cause any skin reactions or harmful effects whatsoever as opposed to its counterparts- so ditch those fancy expensive sunscreens and go old school!
